Save some brain cells, use MedCalc on your Mobile Device (iPhone, Palm, Windows)

MedCalc is a free medical calculator for the iPhone, Palm OS and Windows Mobile. It’s pretty useful and well done. The best thing about it (other than being helpful on a daily basis) is that it’s open source so it can be expanded upon easily. Check it out.

    When I was in nursing school I bought an HP iPAQ and the Skyscape software to use for clinicals and the “dreaded” nursing care plans. It was the most useful tool (and much better than carrying books around) to look up medications, perform calculations, look up lab results and investigate medical conditions and their treatments and general procedures. The Skyscape package was inexpensive and contained invaluable clinical software tools.

    So, I highly recommend any tool on a Palm, iPhone, or mobile device to healthcare providers.
