I definitely agree that these are necessary steps to take when preparing to transition from a paper system to an EMR. EMRs is definitely in our future and we all need to get on board. I happen to work in the VA healthcare system which utilizes EMR. I can honestly say it make caring for our veterans much easier. Our veterans that we care are provided with continuity in care regardless of where they are located in the United States.<br><br>There is never a gap in their care thanks to EMR which is definitely a plus in healthcare today. You don't even delve into support of the solution, just in being a patient and seeing so many doctors and staff railroaded into solution that is supposed to save time and money only to have the system constantly crash and not being able to get an answer form the lackadaisical support system. BUT - it will not benefit the ones who are unwilling to learn, or the computer illiterate. <br>Someone who is computer savvy probably wouldn't have problems understanding how EHRs work. I do believe that an electronic record system will in the long run benefit many. BUT – it will not benefit the ones who are unwilling to learn, or the computer illiterate.
Someone who is computer savvy probably wouldn't have problems understanding how EHRs work.
